At the end of series 3 when Jack is in the hospital he says "Let's get my dad down here and see which of the two of us is the drunker" (or words to that effect)which means that Christian must still be alive and one of the "Oceanic 6". So is he Jacob?
I think Jack was saying the thing about his father (in the flash forward) because he was wasted and he associates all his problems with his father. I think the other hospital workers looked at him funny (the way you do when a drunk person says idiotic things) when he said that.

also interesting that Jacks dad flashes by in the season 4 trailer. Someone just said they think Jacks dad = Jacob
whoah - notice the white shoes. Awful similar to the white shoes jacob is wearing in the cabin?

its not his dad it's jacobs twin brother who died and turned into the smoke monster. And so a new sandbox game begins
